COMPOSTING 101:

For this lab, you will be turning in your completed packet, 2 excel tables, 2 excel graphs, and your conclusion. Please make sure these are stapled together, and avoid using any personal pronouns in your responses. You will find the excel table, directions, and the conclusion prompts below.

Tips for your conclusion: Your hypothesis probably addresses the rate of decomposition and your data reflects temperature and mass. If your data does not show any noticeable trends, THAT'S OK! You can state in your conclusion that the data was inconclusive. If you DID see trends, think about what those might mean about the rate of decomposition of your compost chamber relative to others.

MEALWORM LAB TEMPLATE

Tips for your Mealworm Lab:

1. Remember- you have more than one abiotic factor that you are testing. You can either include all in one hypothesis and one procedure OR write 3 hypotheses and 3 separate procedures (you could probably cut and paste parts of the procedure and only change a little bit each time).

2. There is no graph for this lab. Just fill in the table according to your experiment.

3. Remember to review your former labs (Candy Lab and Heart Rate Lab), and use these rubrics to doublecheck your lab before you turn it in.

Gummy Bear Lab (Candy Lab):

Click here for the template to your Gummy Bear Lab. When using this template, make sure that you follow these directions:

  • Use Times New Roman font, size 11.
  • Anything that you add should NOT be written in bold, so be careful that it does not default to bold.
  • Leave margins as they are.
  • Adjust the tables as needed for your lab's results section. Also, be sure to add a title to your table(s).
  • Check Spelling
  • Make sure your alignment looks professional (ie, spaces between sections are the same, you don't go beyong the roman numerals with your writing, etc.).

Good luck!
